The Argentine Association of Lighting, AADL, announces the IX Panamerican Congress of Lighting, LUXAMERICA 2008, to be held in the city of Rosario, Argentina, from November 5th to 7th  2008. As a result of the selection carried out in the VIII Congress, Luxamérica 2006, (Montevideo, Uruguay, October, 2006) the Argentine Association of Lighting, has been selected as the coordinating entity and the city of Rosario as the place for the realization of the major scientific-technical event on lighting of the continent.  

LUXAMERICA is an open regional meeting held every two years in different cities of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru and Uruguay and has extended from South to North throughout the American continent. Luxamerica is organized by the lighting associations of each of these countries. Since the first meeting of 1992 in San Pablo, Brazil, it received an ever-increasing attention from lighting sectors of the continent and attracting also the participation of  European and Assian groups. This year it will be held simultaneously with the LUZ 2008 exposition.

Congress and Exposition
The Technical Congress LUXAMERICA 2008 is oriented to the analysis of distinctive topics of the current moment and to the definition of a near future: the spread of lighting together with new technologies and the challenges related to the Energy issues and the climatic change. The exhibition LUZ 2008, of a regional nature, will stand as the intersecting point among science, technique and art, directed to efficient-well designed and innovative products and solutions, which are the inherent ideas of the new technologies in lighting, without neglecting the opportunities for the regional integration and exchange.
